Refining the Silhouette
The Mummy Makeover Package
The 'Mummy Makeover' is one of our most popular procedures at Wood and involves combing a series of surgical procedures together to create a full body makeover combing an abdominoplasty with breast surgery.
An abdominoplasty can drastically improve the aesthetic appearance of the shape and contours of the abdomen by removing excess skin and we can also tighten and repair the abdominal muscles while performing the surgery.
We tailor the procedures to the patient's requirements and offer a combination of surgeries including a standard abdominoplasty, a FDL or an extended Liposuction may be added to various areas including the flanks and back.
Breast surgery could be an augmentation via implants of fat transfer or mastopexy or a breast reduction this would be discussed at consultation with your Surgeon.
Recontouring Surgery
Recontouring surgery is best performed when several stones of weight have been lost as the skin has usually become so stretched that it has exceeded its elastic limit. This can also be the case after pregnancy. Rather than shrinking, the skin simply hangs down in an unattractive way, potentially causing problems with hygiene and comfort. Recontouring surgery post weight-loss is most usually thought of in terms of just the abdominal area, but in reality an entire raft of procedures can help patients to gain a better contour in the arms, thighs, buttocks, face, neck and breasts.
Augmentation Mastopexy
After weight loss the breasts often benefit from filling with an implant as well as undergoing an uplift. This procedure can sometimes be performed safely in one go but may need to be staged in certain cases (i.e. uplift first then implant later) for safety reasons.
Abdominoplasty
This surgery involves removing the excess fat and excess skin in the stomach and tightening the surrounding skin. Abdominoplasty is considered when liposuction is insufficient to obtain satisfactory results or to correct alterations of the muscular wall.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a popular cosmetic procedure that involves the removal of excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body to enhance contours and proportions. This surgical technique is commonly used to target stubborn fat pockets that are resistant to diet and exercise, providing patients with a more sculpted and toned appearance. The procedure is typically performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of fat removal required.
During a liposuction procedure, a thin tube called a cannula is inserted through small incisions in the skin. The cannula is used to break up and suction out the excess fat cells, effectively reshaping the treated area. Liposuction can be performed on various body parts, including the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms, and neck, allowing patients to achieve their desired aesthetic goals.
It is important to note that liposuction is not a weight loss solution but rather a body contouring technique. Ideal candidates for liposuction are individuals who are close to their ideal body weight but have localized fat deposits that do not respond to traditional weight loss methods. Following the procedure, patients are advised to maintain a healthy lifestyle to ensure long-lasting results and prevent the accumulation of new fat deposits.
