We believe that nutrition is a fundamental pillar of surgical recovery. Our culinary philosophy moves away from traditional hospital food, instead offering a bespoke dining experience that mirrors the quality and care found in a boutique hotel. Nestled within a 30-acre Devon estate, our kitchen focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients designed to nourish the body and delight the senses during your stay.

A Farm-to-Table Philosophy

Our menu is inspired by the rich agricultural heritage of the South West. We prioritise seasonal produce, often sourcing ingredients from local Devon farmers and suppliers to ensure peak nutritional density. Whether you are staying with us for the day for a Mohs surgery procedure or a post-operative overnight recovery as an inpatient, every meal is prepared on-site by our dedicated chefs. If you look out of our eastern windows, you will overlook our kitchen garden. Our chefs work directly with the onsite horticultural team to ensure that our kitchen garden produce harvests are thoughtfully integrated into the seasonal menu.

Nutrition Targeted for Healing

Post-operative recovery places unique demands on the body. Our menus are thoughtfully constructed to support the various stages of healing:

Protein-Rich Options: Essential for tissue repair and collagen synthesis following procedures like Quantum RF or liposuction.

Anti-Inflammatory Ingredients: We incorporate vibrant vegetables, healthy fats, and antioxidants to help manage internal swelling and oxidative stress.

Hydration Focus: Alongside our meals, we offer a range of herbal teas and infused waters to maintain optimal fluid balance, which is critical for lymphatic health.

Gentle Digestion: For patients recovering from general anaesthesia, we provide light, easily digestible options such as homemade soups and poached proteins that provide comfort without taxing the digestive system.

The Dining Experience

Dining at Wood MediSpa is designed to be a restorative part of your day. We understand that recovery is as much emotional as it is physical; therefore, the presentation and flavour of our food are of the highest priority.

Personalised Service: Our team takes the time to understand your dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, or lifestyle choices such as vegan, gluten-free, or ketogenic diets.

In-Room Dining: For those in our newly renovated hospital rooms, meals are served at your bedside, allowing you to dine in total privacy and comfort.

Bespoke Soft-Textured Food: If you have undergone facial surgery, our chefs make sure food is gentle on the jaw, essential after procedures like deep plane facelifts – but still delicious.

Tranquil Settings: For day-case patients, light refreshments and lunches are served in the Great Hall, offering a moment of peace between clinical stages.

Beyond the Main Meal

We believe the little things make a significant difference in the patient experience. From the aroma of freshly brewed coffee to afternoon tea served with nutritious snacks, our goal is to make your stay feel less like a clinical necessity and more like a retreat. By providing high-quality, delicious food, we ensure that your body has the fuel it needs to achieve the best possible surgical outcome.
